How a haul works

01A rack is a ring floor: a haul shifts one whole line, a row or a column, by one cell.
02The floe at the far lip comes round to the near lip. Nothing falls off and nothing is left behind.
03Tap a rail on the left, right, top or bottom edge. The lane behind that rail hauls toward the edge you touched; the chevron shows the way.
04A line with no floes is bare. A bare haul is refused and costs no haul. Every line that holds ice can always be hauled.
05Fill every chalked bay with a floe. The room is packed when the last bay holds ice.
06Every haul can be hauled back, so a rack never jams. Par is the shortest haul sequence, found by search, and the meter marks it.
07Three stars at par, two within two hauls, one within four. Past the last allowance the lamp gives out and the night ends the rack; starting again is free.
08Kindling buys coats on the coat rack. Nothing sold there changes how a line hauls.
